One of the most popular reggae stars since Bob Marley, Jamaica-born singer Maxi Priest first graced American charts with his breezy covers of “Wild World” and “Some Guys Have All the Luck.” His crown jewel, however, was the R&B-leaning “Close to You,” an ideal showcase for Priest’s tenor voice—the perfect ending to another great summer of music at MetroTech.
